Sheriff Jacob B. Andres, in the above photograph, is showing Trooper Charles Allen of the Ypsilanti state police post and Sgt. M. G. "Red" Howard of the Ann Arbor police how to revive a person nearly drowned or asphyxiated. One of the county jail prisoners is serving as "victim" for demonstration.
